In that I am having a deep, personal crisis about what to do with my tail lights! I think the red tint will look good, but will I able to stomach this minor modification, given my fetish for stockly-stockiness?!
HALP

My opinion, for what little it’s worth, is that since you’re a stock sort of a fella, that you leave the taillights alone. They look fine. All of the bad imports copied yours anyway...

This is one of those rare occasions when the modification appears more stock than the stock stuff. I like subtle mods, and I’m not a fan of Altezza lights, even on an actual Altezza. It gets my vote. Or not. Your car is awesome either way.

That looks fantastic and fixes my one major issue with the Altezza. Do it. OEM+ all the way.

There is only one clear answer.
Sell it and buy a Bronco.

Stock is best. Always. When someone throws some shade on those tyte lights just remind or inform them, all stock bish.

Bronco, yes. Selling the Paseo?
NO

Altezza light assemblies were played out long ago, but in the case of the Altezza, they really do fit. If anything, I always thought the inboard red dots looked weird. Like they should be Altezza style clear assemblies with red bulbs.

They needed to be red months ago. If you have to ask yourself if you want it this many times then maybe you want it.
Also that last car looks like a man wearing an oversized black dress that’s scraping the ground.

might be in the minority, but I kinda dig the JDM-esque look of the clear tail bezels... but if you are going to sell it and buy a Bronco, I’d definitely go full size, 351, zebra stripe

This. The IS300 is a damn good looking vehicle, but the tail lights look like the cheapest aftermarket crap out there. Red looks much better, and more like it belongs on the car.

In general I’m with you on keeping things stock. However, Lexus made a mistake in following the stupid clear taillight trend of the time, in an attempt to appeal to the yuuuthes. Make the taillights red, like they should’ve been originally. It will actually look more stock, even though it is a modification.

You have the only car that can legitimately rock Altezzas. I wouldn’t paint them.
Once you do it’s too easy to think I’ll just shave some badges, then I’ll add this and that, and before you know it you’re driving around with a plasti-dip special.

It would just be vinyl. I can always take them off. I’ve seen people paint them, but that’s irreversible!
